Plice have launched a robust crackdown following violent and unlawful incidents that marred Pro-Gaza demonstrations across several cities on Monday (7 April).
At least 49 individuals have been arrested in connection with the unrest, which included attacks and acts of vandalism that authorities have condemned as threats to public safety and the rule of law, said a press released from the CA's Press Wing.
Two cases have already been formally lodged, while further investigations are ongoing. Law enforcement officials confirmed that additional charges are expected to be filed as the inquiry progresses.
In a concerted effort to bring those responsible to justice, police conducted targeted raids overnight, zeroing in on suspected perpetrators. Video footage from the protests is also being meticulously reviewed to identify others involved in the violence and destruction.
Police affirmed that operations would persist until all culprits are apprehended. Citizens with relevant information have been urged to come forward and assist the investigation, as authorities strive to restore order and uphold the rule of law.
