Warmer days ahead as temperature inches up: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecasted a rise in daytime temperatures for Dhaka and its surrounding areas, with dry conditions and partly cloudy skies expected

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has indicated that Dhaka and its neighbouring areas may experience a rise in daytime temperatures, with the sky remaining partly cloudy for a temporary period.

In its six-hour forecast issued from 7am on Wednesday (29 January), the department predicted a dry spell with an increase in daytime temperatures.

The sky is expected to remain partly cloudy, but no significant weather disturbances are anticipated.

As of 6am on Wednesday, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius, while humidity levels stood at 89%.

The forecast further stated that winds from the west or north-west may sweep across the city at speeds ranging between 5 and 10 kilometres per hour.
