The decision to increase VAT on the workshop sector has been rescinded, keeping the rate at its previous level of 10%.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced this resolution following discussions with the NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan on Monday (20 January).
On 9 January, an ordinance was issued raising the VAT on workshops to 15%.
However, this has now been reverted to the original 10% rate.
Earlier, on 16 January, the NBR also withdrew its decision to increase VAT in the hotel and restaurant sectors.
The reversal is expected to alleviate financial pressures on workshop operators, maintaining consistency with previous VAT levels.
