Due to illness, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will not be attending the nationalist Freedom Fighters' rally scheduled for Saturday (21 December), said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
"She [Khaleda Zia] has been unwell since the night before last. On the advice of her doctors, her participation in the rally has been cancelled," he said during a press conference held at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan on Thursday (19 December).
Khaleda Zia last attended a public political programme in February 2018.
More recently, she participated in the Armed Forces Day event at the Senakunja in the cantonment on 21 November.
