The operating hours of the metro rail will be extended by one hour during the final 15 days of the upcoming month of Ramadan, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) MAN Siddique said on Sunday (10 March).
He disclosed the information during a press conference held at Probashi Kallyan Bhaban in Eskaton of the capital.
He said the last train from Motijheel will depart at 9:40pm, while the last train from Uttara will depart at 9:20pm during the last 15 days.
However, the existing schedule will remain in place in the initial 15 days of Ramadan, MAN Siddique added.
He mentioned that 250 ml water bottles are permitted to be carried both before and after Iftar time; however, in such instances, the water bottle must be disposed of in the designated bins.
Additionally, he added that the iftar schedule will be showcased on LED screens located both inside and outside the train.
Regarding the paid zone, which typically permits passengers to remain for up to 60 minutes, MAN Siddique specified that during Ramadan, passengers can extend their stay to 75 minutes by swiping their card upon entry.
