The High Court (HC) has ordered that primary and secondary schools in the country will remain closed during the month of Ramadan.
An HC bench led by Justice Kamrul Quader passed the order on Sunday (10 March) afternoon.
Earlier, the HC had issued a stay order on the notification to keep schools open during Ramadan.
A circular, published by the the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on 8 February, said regular teaching activities will be carried out in government primary schools for the first 10 days of Ramadan.
The decision had come after partially revising the list of holidays and curriculum for the 2024 academic year.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Education had decided decided to continue the class activities of public and private secondary and lower secondary schools from 11-25 March.
