The price of bottled soybean oil has been raised to Tk 175 per litre from Tk 167, while loose soybean oil now costs Tk 157 per litre, up by Tk 8.
The announcement came on Monday after a meeting between Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin and representatives of the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vegetable Manufacturers Association (BVORVMA) at the Commerce Ministry’s conference room.
"The supply of soybean oil in the market has decreased slightly due to rising prices in the international market. To ensure a steady supply, we have adjusted the prices accordingly," said the commerce adviser.
He assured that market monitoring efforts are ongoing to prevent instability and ensure fair pricing.
