Fayez Ahmed has been appointed senior assistant Press secretary to the chief adviser of the interim government.
The appointment was formalised on Thursday (5 December) through a notification signed by Abul Hayat Md Rafique, deputy secretary of the Contract and Foreign Appointment Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration, with the president’s approval.
According to the notification, Fayez Ahmed has been appointed on a contractual basis to the vacant position of deputy press secretary in the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office.
His tenure will commence from the date of his joining and will continue for the chief adviser’s term or as per the latter's satisfaction.
The notification further specifies that he will receive remuneration and benefits equivalent to the highest step of the fifth grade under government pay scales.
Notably, Fayez Ahmed is currently serving as a special correspondent at the English daily New Age.
