Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has indicated a potential increase in cold weather across the country due to a decrease in night-time temperatures.
Additionally, light to moderate fog may form in certain areas during the late-night to early-morning hours, BMD said in its latest weather forecast on Tuesday (3 December).
According to the BMD, the weather across the country is likely to remain dry, with partly cloudy skies prevailing temporarily.
Night-time temperatures may drop slightly, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. Fog, ranging from light to moderate intensity, is anticipated during the late-night to early-morning period.
The synoptic situation reveals that a seasonal low-pressure zone is currently stationed over the southern Bay of Bengal, with an extension spreading to the northeastern Bay of Bengal.
The department's forecast for Wednesday (4 December), indicates similar dry weather conditions across the country with partly cloudy skies.
Night-time temperatures are expected to drop by 1°C to 2°C, while daytime temperatures are likely to remain steady. Fog conditions are predicted to persist with no significant changes.
Looking ahead to Thursday (5 December), the weather is projected to remain dry with partly cloudy skies.
Both night and day temperatures may experience a slight decline, while the foggy conditions are likely to remain unchanged.
In its extended five-day forecast, the department has predicted a further drop in both night and day temperatures across the country.
