Judiciary Reform Commission (JRC) on Tuesday sat with Constitution Reform Commission (CRC) as part of its plan to take opinions of stakeholders regarding making the judiciary independent, impartial and effective.
CRC Chairman Professor Ali Riaz along with four other members of the commission joined the meeting, held at the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission Building, JRC Secretary (District and Sessions Judge) Mohammad Faruk told BSS.
With JRC Chairman former Justice Shah Abu Naeem Mominur Rahman in the chair, the meeting discussed about the jurisdiction of the two commissions, various articles related to the judiciary in the constitution, separation of the judiciary, decentralization of powers, and appointment procedure of the Chief Justice as well.
In the meeting, both the commissions informed each other about the progress of the work of the relevant commissions as well as coordination between them.
