The low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression, with the possibility of further intensification, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The evolving weather condition may result in rain over various regions of the country over the next two days, BMD said in its latest weather forecast on Wednesday (27 November).
BMD stated that the deep depression is likely to move further west-northwestward and strengthen.
An associated trough extends up to the northern Bay of Bengal. Under these conditions, the country is expected to experience mostly dry weather with partly cloudy skies until 6pm on 27 November.
However, light to moderate fog may form in some areas across the country from late at night to early morning.
Night temperatures may drop slightly, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
By 6pm on Thursday (28 November), light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur in one or two locations within Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.
In contrast, other regions are likely to remain predominantly dry with partly cloudy skies.
Light to moderate fog may persist during the late-night to early morning hours nationwide, with temperatures remaining largely stable throughout the country.
The forecast further indicates that by 6pm on Friday (29 November), light to moderate rain or thundershowers could again be experienced in isolated areas of Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.
Elsewhere, the weather is expected to stay primarily dry, with partly cloudy skies prevailing.
