The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has announced a four-member convening committee with Hasnat Abdullah as the chief coordinator.

The announcement was made at a press conference held in front of the Central Shaheed Minar at Dhaka University on Tuesday night (22 October), led by movement coordinator Sarjis Alam.

The committee includes Arif Sohel as the member secretary, Abdul Hannan Masud as the lead organiser, and Umama Fatema as the spokesperson.

Sarjis Alam said, "After the uprising, we were unable to establish our structure nationwide. As a result, there is an urgent need for a proper organisational framework at the district and sub-district levels.”

“We've encountered many false coordinators, and due to the lack of a structured system, they couldn’t be held accountable or punished. This committee aims to address that, ensuring anyone who violates rules can be expelled or disciplined. The committee will soon be fully formed," he added.

He added, "Our battle against fascism is not over. We need to become more organised to effectively resist the fascists in a united front."
