West Indies beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in their Women’s T20 World Cup clash on Thursday.

Karishma Ramharack bagged four wickets, conceding 17 runs to guide the West Indies to a comfortable position.

Bangladesh were able to manage only 103 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana scored 39 runs, but the other batters failed to support her.

While Karishma bagged four for the West Indies, Afy Fletcher took two for them.

In reply, the West Indies made light work of the chase. Hayley Matthews got them off to a brisk start with a quickfire 34, while Stafanie Taylor contributed a steady 27 before retiring hurt.

West Indies eventually reached the target with eight wickets in hand and 43 balls to spare.

It was Bangladesh’s second defeat in three matches. They won the first match of this World Cup against Scotland and then lost two matches against England and the West Indies.

On the other hand, it was the second with the West Indies, who started with a defeat to South Africa and then won against Scotland.
