The interim government has transferred Lalmonirhat District Executive Magistrate Taposhi Tabassum Urmi to the Ministry of Public Administration as a Special Officer on Duty (OSD) following a controversial post she made on Facebook about Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider while the official directive is yet to be received, a notification had been issued by Senior Assistant Secretary Nilufa Yasmin from the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (6 October).

The executive magistrate, Taposhi Tabassum Urmi, faced criticism after her Facebook post read: "The constitutionally ungrounded Chief Advisor of the Interim Government has said the reset button has been pushed. The past has been erased. By clicking the reset button, he has wiped out all of the country’s historical past. So simple! Your countdown has begun, sir.”

When questioned about the post, Urmi stated over the phone, “The fact that I posted it should be sufficient. I set the post to 'Only Me' for various reasons.” She further declined to comment on the matter.

Upon reviewing her Facebook account, it was found that Urmi had posted several statuses in support of the ousted government following the student-led mass uprising, as well as numerous posts in favour of the Awami League.

In response to the incident, Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider remarked that Urmi had already been transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration as an OSD, adding that the ministry would make the final decision regarding her status.
