Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) Chairman Md Sohorab Hossain, along with its 12 members, have resigned from their positions, an official from the BPSC confirmed to the media.

This resignation follows comments made by Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, regarding the need for PSC reforms.

Md Sohorab Hossain took charge of the BPSC in September 2020. Prior to this role, he served as a senior secretary to the government.

Md Sohorab Hossain completed his Bachelor's (Honors) and Master's degrees in Bangla Language and Literature from Dhaka University. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1986 (1984 batch) as an Assistant Commissioner.

He also served as Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division and held positions as Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Rector of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) Academy, demonstrating great commitment and dedication throughout his career.
