Ministry of Public Administration Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman has denied allegations of financial transactions involved in the appointment of District Commissioners (DCs) across the country, describing the accusations as "false".

In response to a query from journalists at the secretariat on Thursday (3 October), he dismissed the claims as fabricated.

The allegations were brought to light in a national newspaper article.

Public administration ministry secretary firmly rejected the accusations, stating, "There is no truth in the claims of financial dealings. This is entirely fake news, and action is being taken against the newspaper in question. We are not taking such baseless allegations into account."

He further clarified discrepancies highlighted in the news report, particularly regarding a screenshot purportedly showing evidence of a transaction.

"The screenshot featured in the article was from an iPhone, yet I use a Samsung device. I do not use any government-issued phones," he explained.
