Bangladesh's export sector has maintained a strong growth trajectory in the first seven months of the fiscal year 2024-25, with the apparel industry continuing to play a leading role.

According to the latest data released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Monday (3 February), the country's apparel exports generated $23.55 billion between July and January, reflecting a 12% increase compared to the same period in FY2023-24.

In January 2025 alone, export earnings reached $28.97 billion, registering a 5.7% rise from the $25.94 billion recorded in January 2024.

This marks an overall 11.68% growth in total export earnings for the July-January period of FY2024-25, underscoring the resilience and competitiveness of Bangladesh's export industries.

Other export sectors, such as leather and leather goods, agricultural products, home textiles, frozen fish, and plastic products, also showed positive growth, strengthening the nation's presence in international markets.

Looking ahead, Bangladesh has set an ambitious export target of $50 billion for FY2025, aiming for a projected growth of 12.44% compared to the previous fiscal year.

This goal highlights the country’s commitment to expanding its global trade footprint and enhancing its position on the international trade stage.
