Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was unable to commence on time on Sunday (5 January). However, the operations resumed after 1.5 hours at around 11:30am.
DSE's official website posted a notice stating that the delay was "due to unavoidable circumstances," leaving investors in anticipation of further updates regarding the resumption of trading.
"Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to start trade at 10am. Trade start time will be announced later," the notice on the website declared.
This is not the first time the DSE has encountered such issues.
On 10 March of the previous year, the exchange faced a significant error when the website displayed incorrect information concerning the index, causing widespread confusion among investors.
The latest disruption adds to the growing concerns over the technical stability of one of the country's primary financial markets.
