Huawei, a global leader in information and communications technology (ICT), has successfully conducted a campus recruitment programme at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). The initiative aimed to provide fresh graduates with promising career opportunities while fostering a connection between academia and the telecom industry.
The event saw active participation from both Huawei and CUET representatives, reads a press release.
Among those present from Huawei were Md. Fara Newas, Senior HR Manager; Omar Heider Masfique Ahmad, HR Manager; and Md. Khalid Hossain, Assistant HR Manager. Representing CUET were Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shamsul Arefin, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Dr. Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Approximately 300 students from various CUET departments took part in the recruitment process, which comprised an MCQ-based examination and an interview session. Selected candidates will be offered positions at Huawei, enabling them to embark on professional careers with the company.
Md. Fara Newas also conducted a session before the recruitment screening, highlighting global and national telecom trends and the role Huawei plays in advancing technology.
Linxiao, HR Director at Huawei, expressed enthusiasm for the program, stating, “Through regular campus recruitment programs, we aim to offer fresh graduates valuable employment opportunities and support the country’s technological advancement. At Huawei, we value the mix of fresh talent and seasoned experts. CUET is home to bright students, and we are excited to welcome these bright minds to the Huawei family.”
Dr. Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury of CUET applauded the initiative, saying, “Huawei’s campus recruitment program provided a valuable platform for our students to connect with a global ICT leader. It enhanced their understanding of industry expectations and offered a pathway to meaningful career opportunities.”
Participants also shared positive feedback, with one student remarking, “Joining Huawei, the leader in the ICT and telco industry, would be a significant start for my career. I’ve heard from seniors about its performance-driven culture, and I’m inspired to contribute to building a fully connected, intelligent Bangladesh.”
Most of Huawei’s employees in Bangladesh are recruited locally and have made substantial contributions not only within the country but also in Huawei’s global operations. The company continues to focus on empowering local talent and driving technological innovation.
