National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz stated on Saturday that a national consensus could be achieved swiftly through dialogue involving all political parties.

Speaking at a meeting with Khelafat Majlish at the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad, he acknowledged existing political differences but emphasized that many parties share common ground.

"There are disagreements among political parties, but many have similar views. All voices will be heard, and I hope we can reach a national consensus through dialogue," he said.

Ali Riaz noted that Khelafat Majlish’s participation was part of this process and acknowledged the time constraints in initiating discussions. However, he assured that the commission would move forward based on the sincere opinions shared by participating parties. He emphasized that the dialogue would not be limited to any single party but would involve broader political engagement.

The National Consensus Commission began its discussions with political parties on Thursday, starting with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), as part of efforts to build consensus on reform initiatives introduced by the interim government.

The commission has identified key recommendations from five reform commissions—covering the constitution, public administration, electoral system, judiciary, and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). It is now seeking input from political parties on these proposals.

A spreadsheet containing selected reform recommendations was sent to 38 political parties, requesting their specific feedback by 13 March.
