Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting thunderstorms and gusty winds of up to 60 km/h across 14 districts.
The forecast, issued on Sunday (23 February), instructs the country’s inland river ports to maintain caution.
According to the advisory, temporary squalls or strong winds from the west and north-west may sweep through Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, and Chattogram, accompanied by rainfall or thunderstorms.
In light of these conditions, authorities have instructed river ports in the affected regions to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1.
