Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui has reaffirmed that Bangladesh will not yield on matters where it perceives itself as disadvantaged in agreements with India.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday (29 January) at the secretariat, following a meeting on the upcoming BGB-BSF border conference, he stated that the foreign ministry has been urged to address these unequal agreements.

"This will be resolved through diplomatic channels, but from our side, there will be no concessions," he stressed.

Siddiqui further announced that prior to the border conference with India, the BGB will hold discussions with journalists to provide detailed information.

He highlighted that border killings would be the most critical agenda item in the talks, reiterating, "In short, we will not make any compromises on any issue."
