Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has stated that all those implicated in criminal activities and controversial roles during the tenure of the Awami League government will be systematically apprehended.

"Motiur has been arrested today. One by one, everyone will be brought to justice," he said during a press briefing following his visit to the headquarters of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) on Wednesday (15 January).

Despite their contentious roles, many police officers have not faced punitive measures; instead, they have been transferred, promoted, or reassigned, leaving newly trained recruits without appointments.

When questioned about this, the home affairs adviser responded, "Police officers whose roles were questionable, for whom there is footage, are being apprehended. Efforts are ongoing. We are capturing one or two each day. Today, for instance, Motiur of the goat scandal has been caught. It was challenging to apprehend him until now. The others will be found and brought under the law. It is impossible to arrest everyone in a single day, as many are in hiding, but they will be found and apprehended one by one."
