A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck 128 kilometres from Phek, a town in the southeastern Indian state of Nagaland.

The tremors from this seismic event were felt in various parts of Bangladesh.

Residents of Cumilla and Sylhet reported experiencing the tremors, with many taking to Facebook to share their accounts of the incident.

Some in Dhaka also reported about feeling the jolt.
