The Anti-Discrimination Students Movement will officially announce the "Proclamation of July Revolution" on 31 December at 3:00pm at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka. The confirmation came from the movement’s spokesperson, Umama Fatema, on Saturday night.
Umama Fatema stated, "The proclamation will address why the revolution arose from Sheikh Hasina's autocratic rule, how it evolved, and the reasons behind the shift from a 9-point to a 1-point demand. It will also highlight the aspirations of students and the public that led to the July Revolution."
The announcement has already generated widespread discussion on social media, particularly on Facebook.
Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Co-operatives, wrote on his Facebook profile, "Comrades, Now Or Never." In another post, he simply wrote, "Proclamation of July Revolution."
Similarly, Akhtar Hossain, Secretary of the National Citizens Committee, wrote on his personal Facebook page, "This year, on 31 December. In Sha Allah!"
Sargis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Committee, posted on his Facebook profile, "31st December, Shaheed Minar, Time: 3:00pm, For the sake of BANGLADESH..."
