The interim government declared a day of state mourning on Monday (22 December) following the death of AF Hassan Ariff, adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Land.
To observe the day, the national flag will be hoisted at half-mast at all government, semi-government, and autonomous institutions, educational institutions, all government and private buildings, and Bangladesh missions abroad.
Special prayers will be arranged at all mosques and other places of worships for the salvation of the departed soul.
Hasan Ariff died of cardiac arrest on Friday (20 December).
