Ex-attorney general AF Hassan Ariff, who was working as an adviser to the current interim government till his sudden death on Friday, will be laid to rest at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in Mirpur on Monday.
The burial will be held at 10am, according to a notification issued by Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid on Sunday.
In honor of his memory, a state mourning will also be observed tomorrow.
The national flag will be flown at half-mast across all government, semi-government, and autonomous institutions, as well as all educational institutions, government and private buildings, and Bangladesh missions abroad.
Additionally, special prayers will be held in all mosques and other religious institutions for the peace of his soul.
Meanwhile, the Council of Advisers on Sunday formally adopted a condolence motion on the death of Civil Aviation, Tourism and Land Adviser AF Hassan Ariff, recalling his contributions and paying deep respect to him.
The condolence motion was adopted at a special meeting of the Council of Advisers held at the Chief Adviser's Office with CA Dr Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
Adviser Hassan Ariff passed away at a hospital in the capital on Friday. He was 85.
Mohammad Nasir Uddin, his personal secretary, told UNB that Ariff collapsed while having lunch at home on Friday.
He was rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed he had suffered a cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at 3:10 pm.
