Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today said the Sound Pollution Control Rules will be finalized in December (this month).
"The rules will give police the power to control sound pollution," she said, adding that it is not enough just to sentence jail or impose fines, but awareness must be created and responsible behavior should be brought among the country's people to this end".
Rizwana made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an awareness programme on sound pollution control in front of Gulshan Society Jame Mosque here.
She said noise pollution has adverse impacts on physical and mental health of people and that is why everyone's cooperation is needed to check sound pollution.
