BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to go to the US Embassy in Dhaka this afternoon to give her fingerprints for completing her visa application process.
The BNP chief is expected to leave her Gulshan office for the US Embassy around 2 pm, said Khaleda’s media cell member Shamsuddin Didar, quoting her personal doctor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
Party sources said the BNP chief will go to the UK first early next month.
Later, she may go to the US or Germany for advanced treatment. She has already applied for the US visa.
Khaleda, a former prime minister, has been grappling with a range of serious health issues, including liver cirrhosis, heart, lung, kidney, and eye problems.
She has undergone multiple treatments at Evercare Hospital in the capital since her conditional release, under the supervision of a medical board led by Prof. Shahabuddin Talukder.
The BNP has made all necessary arrangements to send her abroad for specialised treatment at an advanced medical centre.
