Battery-run rickshaw drivers convened with the DMP Commissioner to discuss the withdrawal of a High Court order banning battery-operated vehicles and their demands for licences and rationalised route permits

Battery-run rickshaw drivers have engaged in a meeting with Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjad Ali to push for the withdrawal of the High Court's directive banning battery-operated vehicles, alongside their demand for licences and logical route permits from the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).

The meeting commenced at 11am on Monday (25 November), at the DMP Headquarters.

According to DMP sources, a group of battery-rickshaw drivers arrived at the DMP Headquarters as scheduled to participate in the pre-arranged discussions.

The drivers are voicing their grievances and demands in the meeting with the DMP Commissioner.
