BNP does not want to ban any political party in the country, said party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He made the comment while responding to journalists regarding the current situation of the Jatiya Party.
"Who are we to ban political parties? The people will decide the matter,” he said.
Fakhrul was addressing a programme on the death anniversary of BNP leader Sabih Uddin Ahmed at the BRAC center in the capital’s Mohakhali on Saturday afternoon.
Regarding the banning of Jatiya Party, the BNP leader also said, “A new conspiracy is being hatched to create uncertainty in the country. The issue of the Jatiya party is not an issue at all.”
