The personnel of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the former lawmaker around 9:00pm from Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital, said RAB's director (legal and media wing) Lt Col Md Munim Ferdous.

Former Sunamganj-5 lawmaker Mohibur Rahman Manik has been arrested in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

The personnel of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the former lawmaker around 9:00pm from Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital, said RAB's director (legal and media wing) Lt Col Md Munim Ferdous.

The process is underway to hand over the arrestee to the Detective Branch (DB) of DMP, said RAB official.

On 8 August, a case was filed against Manik, also known as "boma Manik", with Sunamganj Sadar Police Station for allegedly attacking students during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
