A Biman flight was delayed by 1.5 hours at Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari on Saturday due to a technical glitch in the engine.
The flight was originally scheduled to depart the airport at 8:00am.
According to airport authorities, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft, carrying 71 passengers from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, landed at Saidpur Airport in the morning. However, when preparing for takeoff back to Dhaka, an engine issue was detected. The problem was resolved, and the flight took off for Dhaka after a delay of one and a half hours.
Saidpur Airport Manager Bahuddin Zakaria said, "There was no major fault with the aircraft. The issue was resolved with the help of local aviation engineers, and the flight departed for Dhaka 1.5 hours later."
Flight operations have since returned to normal, he added.
