A senior cabin crew member on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight sustained a broken leg due to turbulence just before landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal's Kathmandu today (4 June).

The incident took place on flight BG373, a Boeing 737-800.

According to airline sources, the turbulence hit as the aircraft was preparing to land. The cabin crew member had been asking passengers to fasten their seatbelts. While moving back to her seat, she lost balance due to the turbulence and fell, breaking her leg.

Biman’s General Manager PR, Boseara Islam, told Bangladesh First, "The injury was not solely due to the turbulence. The cabin crew member was not in the correct position during the landing, leading to her fall and injury. She was injured due to her own mistake."

The injured crew member is currently receiving medical attention, and the airline is investigating the incident.
