Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief to submit a damage assessment report by Sunday.
She also asked the government officials to support people affected by Cyclone Remal alongside their routine duties.
The directives were issued during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec), which the Prime Minister chaired at the NEC auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Planning Minister Abdus Salam and Senior Secretary of the Planning Division Satyajit Karmaker briefed the press following the meeting, outlining the Prime Minister's instructions.
They revealed that many dams have been damaged due to Cyclone Remal, and the Prime Minister has ordered their swift repair.
Additionally, she has directed the immediate provision of drinking water to the affected areas.
Prime Minister Hasina monitored the disaster response efforts until 2 am, ensuring the safety of coastal residents.
She maintained contact with affected regions via landline phone to oversee the situation personally, Karmaker added.
