Social Islami Bank inaugurated 10 new sub-branches on May 20.

The bank's Managing Director and Chief Executive, Zafar Alam, inaugurated the sub-branches as the chief guest, reads a press release.

Deputy Managing Director Muhammad Forkanullah presided over the event organized at the head office, with Deputy Managing Director Mohammad Habibur Rahman and Head of Branches Control Department Zainal Abedin also speaking at the event.

AAM Habibur Rahman, Head of Internal Control and Compliance Division, along with various department heads and senior executives, were present on the occasion. Dignitaries, including local public representatives, teachers, journalists, businessmen, regional heads of different regions of the bank, managers of related branches, and in-charges of sub-branches, participated virtually.

The new sub-branches are located in Guimara in Khagrachari, Abu Torab in Baroyarhat in Chittagong, Khaja Road in Baklia, Kanuram Bazar in Lohagara, Islamia Bazar in Nanupur, Chagalnaia in Phulgazi in Feni, Manikganj, Harisardar Bazar in Munsirhat in Comilla, Garhmora Bazar in Homna, and Ibrahimpur in Dhaka.

In his speech, Zafar Alam emphasized that Islamic banking is an interest-free system that brings welfare to all. He highlighted that one-third of the country's remittances come through Islamic banks, and noted that Social Islami Bank currently ranks second in remittance collection. Alam also mentioned that the bank's customer base is steadily increasing, and the bank is working towards the goal of serving half a million people soon.
