Despite Bangladesh's convincing victories in the first two T20I matches against Zimbabwe in Chattogram, BCB President and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan has voiced his dissatisfaction with the national team's batting performance.

While acknowledging the comfortable wins, Nazmul expressed his concerns.

“We have won two matches against Zimbabwe convincingly, it’s true, but I did not like the batting,” he said today in Mirpur.

He specifically highlighted the struggle of the batting unit to post competitive totals, even against a relatively weaker opponent. “There is a gap between our approach to T20 and the IPL,” he observed. “Even a total of 250-260 doesn't guarantee a win, and we still struggle to reach 140-145.”

Nazmul, however, commended the bowlers for their impressive performances, praising the return of Mohammad Saifuddin and the contributions of Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed. He also praised Mustafizur Rahman for his IPL performance.

Critics have questioned the effectiveness of playing against Zimbabwe as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, given the team's recent struggles. Nazmul acknowledged that the series was not specifically chosen for preparation but was part of the ICC Future Tours Program.

Bangladesh will look to seal the series with a win in the third T20I before heading to the USA for another three-match T20I series as part of their build-up to the World Cup.
