Traffic on Gabtoli-Nabinagar road to be halted for 5-hrs on 26 March

Preparations for the Independence and National Day celebrations at the National Memorial have been completed, with tight security measures in place

General traffic will be restricted on the Gabtoli-Aminbazar-Savar-Nabinagar road from 3:00 am to 8:00 am on 26 March to ensure the safety of VVIPs during their movement on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day.

According to a PID handout issued today, vehicles departing Dhaka from Gabtoli must use alternative routes, including the Dheur-Ashulia-Bypail road via Mirpur Mazar, Beribadh, and the Uttara-Abdullahpur-Tongi-Gazipur Chandra route.

All vehicles traveling on the Dhaka-Aricha and Dhaka-Tangail highways towards or from Dhaka will also need to follow these alternative routes during the restricted hours.

The Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, will visit the National Memorial in Savar in the morning to lay wreaths in tribute to the martyrs and will return to Dhaka via the Gabtoli-Aminbazar-Savar route.

Meanwhile, preparations for the Independence and National Day celebrations at the National Memorial have been completed, with tight security measures in place. Wreaths will be laid at the memorial's main altar in the morning, with Chief Adviser Yunus leading the tributes.

Members of the Advisory Council, foreign diplomats, war-wounded freedom fighters, political leaders, social organizations, and citizens from all walks of life will also visit the memorial to pay their respects. Following the chief adviser’s tribute, the memorial will be opened to the public.

Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Savar National Memorial, Mizanur Rahman, confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the occasion. Dhaka District Police Superintendent Asaduzzaman assured that strict security measures have been implemented to maintain law and order during the celebrations.
