The State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak has directed the concerned officials to take effective steps to make BTCL’s calling service app 'Alaap' popular among customers.
The State Minister gave these instructions during the annual development program review meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday (14 March).
Palak instructed to improve Alaap's capability to enable video calls for 20 lakh customers simultaneously, to make the app as easy to download as WhatsApp using a mobile number without an ID, and to allow incoming and outgoing calls and receiving calls in the app using an existing landline phone number.
He also advised the Department of Posts and Telecommunications on the steps to be taken to achieve the highest position in the national progress order regarding the implementation of the ADP in the current financial year.
