In preparation for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, Bangladesh Railway has begun advance ticket sales for intercity trains on Friday (14 March).
From 8am onwards, passengers can purchase tickets online for journeys scheduled on 24 March.
According to railway ministry sources, all advance tickets will be sold exclusively through online platforms, with the booking process continuing for seven consecutive days.
Tickets for intercity trains on the western routes of the railway network became available for purchase from 8am, while sales for eastern route trains will commence at 2pm.

16 March: Tickets for 26 March
17 March: Tickets for 27 March
18 March: Tickets for 28 March
19 March: Tickets for 29 March
20 March: Tickets for 30 March
Railway authorities have indicated that tickets for 31 March, 1 April, and 2 April will be released based on the moon sighting, determining the exact date of Eid.
In response to passenger demand, 25% of standing tickets will be available at the originating station before departure.
Each traveller can purchase advance tickets only once, with a maximum allocation of four seats per person. However, purchased tickets are non-refundable.
