Md A Halim (Hitler A Halim), editor of InfotechInsight.com, has been elected as the president of Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF), and Sabbin Hasan, digital growth editor at Samakal, has been elected as the general secretary (GS).
Hitler bagged 42 votes while his rival candidate Zakir Hassan got 22 votes. On the other hand, Sabbin received 39 votes while his opponent Mizanur Rahman got 25 votes, said a press release.
BIJF Election Commission announced the results after the day-long election at Vision-2021 Tower in Karwan Bazar in the capital on Friday.
Earlier, 64 out of 67 voters cast their votes in the election held from 9am to 4pm.
A total of 18 candidates contested for 9 posts in this election of the executive committee of the BIJF for 2024-26.
