Stocks witnessed a decline in early trade today, reversing the moderate gains of the previous session.
The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell by 42.71 points, or 0.80%, settling at 5,155.10 as of 11:04am.
The market experienced a downturn shortly after opening, with 46 issues advancing, 266 declining, and 63 remaining unchanged within the first hour of trading.
The total turnover at the DSE stood at Tk 73.80 crore during the initial session.
Miracle Industries led the gains, recording an increase of over 9%, while the share price of Prime Finance First Mutual Fund saw a significant drop of more than 6%.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also reflected a downward trend. The CSE All Share Price Index slipped by 33.80 points, a decline of 0.23%, to close at 14,547.30.
