Bangladesh is reviewing its tariff structure on products imported from the United States as part of ongoing efforts to enhance trade relations, according to Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
In a social media post on Thursday (3 April), he stated that the National Board of Revenue is swiftly assessing options to rationalise tariffs, describing it as a necessary step in addressing the matter.
"The United States is a close friend of Bangladesh and remains our largest export destination. We have been working with the US since the Trump administration took office to strengthen trade and investment ties," he said.
Discussions with Washington are expected to facilitate adjustments to the tariff framework, reflecting Dhaka’s broader commitment to fostering economic cooperation with its key trading partners.
