Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has urged all to take lesson from the nightmare of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Imprudence and fascism are not at all beneficial for the nation and it has been proved again in the case of Sheikh Hasina”, he said.
Jamaat Ameer was addressing a memorial meeting and doa mahfil for former lawmaker and ex-Jamaat central women secretary Hafeza Ashma Khatun at Alfalah auditorium in Moghbazar here today.
Terming the fascist regime as a dangerous one for them, the Jamaat chief said, “Once upon a time we even could not communicate with each other. We were not allowed to take part in any doa programme.”
“We hope such terrible situation will never come back to our life,” he said urging all to take lesson from that experience.
Dr Shafique said Ashma Khatun’s family was one the victims of the persecution of Awami League. Her sons were not allowed to come to the country when Ashma died.
Her sons could not have last glimpse to their parents and even we could not participate in her Namaj-e-Janaza, the Jamaat chief added.
Niaz Makhdum, elder son of Ashma Khatun, chaired the function while her younger son cultural personality Saifullah Mansur was the moderator.
Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Professor Mia Golam Parwar, central leader Saiful Alam Khan Milon, advocate Jashim Uddin Sarker, Dr Mamun Al Azmi, Hemayet Hossen and Barrister Nazib Momen and Dhaka city south unit Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul were present.
