On 19 February 1906, Will Keith Kellogg, having parted ways with his brother John over disagreements regarding the credit for their cereal invention and the addition of sugar, joined forces with Charles D Bolin to establish the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company.
This venture, fuelled by Will’s entrepreneurial vision and belief in the commercial potential of sweetened cereal, laid the foundation for what would become Kellogg’s, a global food industry giant.
His decision to sweeten and mass-market cornflakes not only revolutionised breakfast but also cemented his legacy as a pioneer in the packaged food business.
