Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has no information about the recovery of the body parts of Bangladesh's Jhenaidah-4 Constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata of West Bengal in India.
Contacted on Tuesday evening over phone, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of DB (Wari Division) Abdul Ahad, who is now in Kolkata as part of a 3-member DB team, told UNB that they do not have the information about the recovery of body parts of Anar. Local investigation agency Kolkata CID has not yet formally informed them anything regarding the recovery of the body parts of MP Anar.
Earlier in the morning, chief of DMP's Harnur Rashid, who has been leading the 3-member DB team in Kolkata, requested the Kolkata CID to search the septic tank of the building where the MP was allegedly murdered. CID later searched the tank.
Media of Kolkata reported that fragments of Anar's body were recovered from the tank. However, it can only be confirmed after DNA test whether the fragmented part is of Anar.
However, Kolkata CID has not yet confirmed anything in this regard, the DC (DB- Wari) Ahad said.
