Saudi Arabia has imposed a temporary visa ban affecting travelers from multiple countries, including Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Yemen, according to ARY News.

The ban targets unauthorized Hajj participants who enter on multiple-entry visas and overstay to perform the pilgrimage, contributing to overcrowding and safety concerns. However, those with Umrah visas can still enter Saudi Arabia until 13 April.

Another major reason behind the ban is illegal employment. Authorities found that some travelers on business and family visas were engaging in unauthorized work, violating visa regulations, and disrupting the labor market.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ban aims to streamline travel regulations and enhance safety during the Hajj season. Officials have warned that violators who remain in the country illegally may face a five-year entry restriction.

The visa restrictions are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader immigration control measures to ensure better management of pilgrims and visitors. Authorities expect normal visa processes to resume after mid-June.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced a digital guide in 16 languages, including Urdu, English, Arabic, Turkish, French, Persian, Uzbek, and Indonesian, to assist pilgrims. Available in multiple formats such as PDF downloads and audio versions, the guide provides essential information to help ensure a smooth Hajj experience.
