The RMG workers will receive their salaries and bonuses for the month of March before the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the Tripartite Consultative Council (RMG TCC) held at the Ministry of Labour and Employment today (20 March).

Chaired by State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, the meeting included S. M. Mannan (Kochi), President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association; Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Vice President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA); and Md. In addition to ensuring timely payments to workers, the meeting addressed concerns regarding job security. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury asked factory owners not to terminate or lay off any workers prior to Eid.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the state minister underscored the government's commitment to preventing labor unrest in the garment sector ahead of Eid.
