Sheikh Moinuddin and Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb have been appointed as special assistants to Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, with each holding the rank of state minister, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday (5 March).
To assist the chief adviser in governance, Sheikh Moinuddin has been assigned to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, while Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb has been placed under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
As per the official notification, both will receive the rank, salary, allowances, and benefits equivalent to those of a state minister.
Previously, three special assistants had been appointed to oversee different ministries. With these new additions, the chief adviser now has five special assistants, each overseeing a ministry with ministerial status.
In a separate notification, newly appointed Adviser Professor Chowdhury Rafiqul (CR) Abrar has been entrusted with the Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, Wahiduddin Mahmud, who had been serving as the education adviser, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Planning.
