The dense fog that had been blanketing the country since dawn has started to dissipate, with temperatures falling in nearly all districts. This trend is expected to persist for the next five days, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In its latest weather update on Monday (30 December), the BMD stated that the weather is likely to remain dry across the country, with partly cloudy skies.

From midnight to morning, moderate to dense fog may develop in the northern regions, while light to moderate fog could occur elsewhere.

Both day and night temperatures are expected to decrease slightly nationwide.

For the 24-hour period beginning Tuesday (31 December), the forecast indicates dry weather with partly cloudy skies across the country.

Moderate to dense fog is anticipated in the northern regions from midnight to morning, with light to moderate fog elsewhere.

Temperatures during this period could decrease by 1–2 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, for the 24-hour period commencing Wednesday (1 January), the weather is expected to remain dry with partly cloudy skies.

Moderate to dense fog may persist in the northern regions, and light to moderate fog elsewhere from midnight to morning. During this period, temperatures may drop by 1–3 degrees Celsius nationwide.

However, towards the end of the five-day period, both daytime and nighttime temperatures are projected to increase slightly.

This forecast indicates a continuation of the winter chill, with foggy mornings and cooler temperatures dominating the weather across the nation.
